Built Inside a Real Insurance Agency

We Built This for
One Agency.
Then We Realized
Every Agency Needed It.

Not from a venture-backed lab. Not from a whiteboard. From an agency in Mississippi that refused to sound like everyone else.

THE ORIGIN STORY

In late 2024, Tamara Pharr had a problem.

She'd just moved McWright Insurance Group onto AgencyZoom and immediately hit a wall. Building automations took hours per stage. The consultant route meant spending thousands on template packages that would sound like every other agency in the state. And the DIY approach produced messaging so robotic her clients would know it wasn't her.

Tamara's standard for McWright has always been simple: if it doesn't sound like us, it doesn't go out.

She asked Matthew Henry — a friend with a background in operations and process engineering — to take a look. What started as "help me fix this one thing" turned into something neither of them expected.

Matthew built a system that could capture how McWright actually communicates — the tone, the warmth, the way Tamara's team talks to clients who've been with them for decades — and generate automation sequences that preserved all of it. What used to take hours took minutes. What used to sound like a template sounded like McWright.

Justin Timbs, an agent and operations lead at McWright, became the proving ground. Every feature got tested against real client workflows, real service tickets, real pipeline pressure. If it didn't work for Justin's Tuesday morning, it didn't ship.

Six months later, they took what worked for one Mississippi agency and opened it up to agencies everywhere. EffiZoom was born — not from a whiteboard, not from a pitch deck, but from an agency that needed better tools and a team stubborn enough to build them.

What Drives Us

Independent insurance agencies were built around kitchen tables and handshakes. The relationships your team has with your clients — that's the product. Everything else is support.

Empowerment over replacement

Your team is your greatest asset. We build tools that make them better, not tools that try to replace them.

Education before transaction

We'd rather teach you how agency automation works and let you decide when you're ready than push you into something you don't understand.

Your voice matters

Every agency has a way of communicating that their clients recognize and trust. Automation should preserve that — not flatten it into generic templates.

Simplicity wins

If it takes longer to learn the tool than to do the task manually, the tool failed. We build for operators, not IT departments.

Ownership, not dependency

When you build with EffiZoom, you own what you build. Your workflows, your automations, your brand voice profile — they're yours. We're not interested in creating a system you can't live without. We're interested in making your agency stronger whether you stay with us or not.

The People Behind EffiZoom

Built by agency operators, for agency operators

Matthew Henry - Co-Founder

Matthew Henry

Co-Founder & CEO

Matthew's career started in business development and operations — dealer networks, equipment sales, the kind of work where you learn fast that process problems don't fix themselves and operators deserve better tools than they're usually given.

He got technical not because he planned to, but because he kept running into the same bottlenecks and got tired of waiting for someone else to solve them. When Tamara asked for help with McWright's automation challenges, he saw a problem he recognized from every industry he'd worked in.

He left a corporate career to do this full-time because he believed independent agencies deserve the same operational leverage that large carriers take for granted.

"I build systems that give good people their time back — so they can do the work that actually matters."

Co-Founder
Owner, McWright Insurance Group

Tamara runs the agency where EffiZoom was born. When McWright moved to AgencyZoom, she looked at the consultant options, looked at the template packages, and looked at what other agencies' automations sounded like — and said no to all of it.

Her standard was simple: McWright has spent years building trust with clients and a community. Automation that doesn't reflect that trust isn't automation worth having.

That refusal to compromise on voice and quality is what started EffiZoom. Every feature exists because Tamara asked: "Does this sound like us? Does this work the way we actually work?"

"I didn't want McWright to sound like everyone else. I wanted automation that sounded like McWright."
Justin Timbs - Co-Founder

Justin Timbs

Co-Founder
Agent & Operations, McWright Insurance

Justin is the proving ground. As an agent and operations lead at McWright, he lives in the workflows EffiZoom is designed to support — every day, with real clients, real service tickets, and real pipeline pressure.

He knows which parts of the day take too long, which clients fall through the cracks when things get busy, and the difference between an automation that actually helps and one that just creates more work to manage.

Every EffiZoom feature gets tested against Justin's real workday before it ships. If it slows him down, it gets rebuilt. If it doesn't solve a problem he actually has, it doesn't make it to the platform.

"If it doesn't work in our agency first, we don't ship it."

What We're Building Toward

EffiZoom started with one agency in Mississippi. Today we serve independent agencies across the country — helping them build automation systems that sound like them, find revenue hiding in their pipelines, and operate with the kind of consistency that used to require a much bigger team.

We're not trying to be the biggest name in insurance technology. We're trying to be the most useful.

That means continuing to build tools that operators actually want to use. It means expanding to serve agencies on platforms beyond AgencyZoom. It means growing our digital workforce so agencies can add capacity without adding headcount. And it means staying true to the principle that got us here: relationships are the product, and technology's job is to protect them.

If your agency is ready to modernize without losing what makes you you — we'd love to show you what's possible.
